Our Next Spotlight Goes to Our Social Media Officer: Eddie Nold

What goals do you hope to achieve for the SBA this year?
I hope to be able to establish our social media presence and reach out to Freshman and new students interested in the sports business industry and sports in general. The SBA provides an amazing opportunity to get directly involved in the sports business industry, and I hope we can find as many passionate people on campus as possible to be involved in the organization!

What is the best piece of advice you have received?

The best piece of advice I have ever received is that it is never too early to get involved. Whether it is on campus with clubs/organizations or professionally with internships or part-time jobs, its never too early in college to expand your reach and see what you enjoy doing personally and professionally!

What are three things you value in your life?

My family and friends who support me in all aspects of my life, being surrounded by positive, hard-working people, and My Milwaukee Bucks (2021 World Champions baby)

What athlete has inspired you the most?

Giannis Antetokounmpo, otherwise known as the best player in the NBA right now.

Where do you hope to see yourself professionally in 10 years?

This is a more ambiguous answer, but I hope to see myself in a position I'm passionate and happy about more than anything. I don't have a particular area within sports business I am dead-set on pursuing yet, and I'm currently looking to gain experience in various different areas to discover what I'm most interested in. Ultimately, career paths are way more unpredictable than we hope to imagine, and the ideal scenario I hope for the most is to be happy in a position I am truly passionate about.

Why do you want to work in the sports industry?

I want to work in the sports industry because sports as a whole are truly my passion and I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. I would've never thought five years ago I would be lucky enough to be apart of an academic program that would help lead to working for professional sports organizations, something I have always dreamed about since I was young.

What motivated you to get involved in the SBA?

What motivated me to get involved in the SBA is to join an organization where I could be surrounded by young professionals equally passionate about sports business and the sports industry as I am. I particularly wanted to join Eboard to help broaden our reach to the student body and look to get younger students, particularly Freshmen, more immediately involved in sports business as a whole.

What do you consider your biggest strength?

I consider my greatest strength to be my ability as a teammate and how I function in a team environment. I can serve both as a leader and a facilitator in a team so that every individual is engaged and feels welcome/involved.

What part of SBA are you most looking forward to this year?

I'm most looking forward to the SINC Conference in February. SINC is the one of the best opportunities anybody involved in the sports industry has to meet, network, and discuss various aspects of sports business in general. For people who aren't 100% of what they exactly want to do within sports business, SINC is an excellent opportunity to network and discover what you're passionate about within sports.

What is one thing we absolutely need to know about you?

I, like everyone else at this school, and from the great state of New Jersey (its a personality trait).
