What has motivated you to want to be apart of the sports industry?

When I became a brand ambassador for Manchester City, I really enjoyed being able to bring people together through a shared love for sports. I also loved building my own social media presence and hosting events with people who enjoyed sports just as much as I did. Over the summer of 2020, I started working for America SCORES which allowed me to also explore the nonprofit side of sports. My time with America SCORES showed me the power of sports when it comes to building community and giving back where it matters, which is why I want to continue working in the sports industry.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream for my career is to be on the marketing team of an international soccer club! In general, my biggest dream would be to travel the world and experience different ways of life.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Never sell yourself short

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be and why?

Energetic, creative, and funny. I would pick these three because I consider myself to be a very energetic and talkative person - I'm always ready to go on another adventure, or just meet new people all the time, I also think of myself as a creative person because I do a lot of design projects for work and in my free time, and I believe I'm pretty funny - I'm always trying to get a laugh out of my friends!

What is one of your goals for GWSBA this semester?

A goal for GWSBA this semester would be to attract people from all different parts of GW's student body - I don't think sports should ever be limited to a specific groups of people, and I know after a year of not being on campus, many students are going to be looking for that sense of community.

What do you enjoy most about GWSBA?

I really enjoy how passionate everyone involved with GWSBA is about the work they do - it's been really inspiring!

How have your professional experiences impacted where you are today?

I wouldn't be here in the place that I'm working in now if it hadn't been for that chance to be a Brand Ambassador for Manchester City FC - it sparked a love for social media and graphic design that I didn't realize I had before. My time there has also opened up a lot of different avenue when it comes to professional connections as I've been able to meet and network with executives in City Football Group - a chance I never would've gotten otherwise.

What is one thing we should absolutely know about you?

I'm a big alternative rock fan! Any fans of late-90s, early 2000s rock is an instant friend.

What is something you would tell your younger self right now?

Always volunteer to go the extra mile - it is noticed.

If you could meet one athlete in any sport, who would it be and why?

I would probably want to meet Serena Williams. As a lifelong tennis player, I have always looked up to her as a role model because she achieved so much and inspired so many women of color to be their best selves. I'd want to ask her about her path to greatness, how she overcame all the obstacles thrown at her, and of course any advice!
