Q: How did you get into sports?
A: I started playing sports when I was five years old with tee ball and soccer; then as I got older, I began basketball and football. I've always been drawn to the energy of sports, both as a player and as a fan.
Q: Who is your role model in the sports industry?
A: Scott Boras
Q: What made you want to work in the sports industry?
A: My lifelong passion for sports is what makes me want to work in sports most. The next best thing after being a professional athlete is working in the sports industry.
Q: What is something you wish you had known about going into the industry before college and applying to internships?
A: I wish I knew how huge the sports industry truly is. Before starting at GW, I thought that most of the jobs in sports were working for a league or team. That couldn't be further from the truth, and I've loved learning about all the intricacies of the sports industry and the different sectors within it.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: General Counsel at a Players Association or a top Sports Agency (Boras Corp, Excel SM, Octagon, CAA, Roc Nation, etc).
Q: What are you doing this summer?
A: This summer, I've been working with the MLBPA to perform market research on and participate in meetings with a number of Augmented Reality companies in order to expand business opportunities in that space.
Q: What experiences do you have working in the sports industry?
A: Besides my current internship, I had a baseball analytics Internship this spring (Jan-June 2020) for the Ridge House Group working with college baseball game film. My analysis of these games was distributed to clients (MLB teams and other D1 teams) for scouting purposes. The summer before, I worked as an Intern for Prep Baseball Report, a top baseball recruiting company. I worked on both the operations of their tournaments and showcases and ran the Instagram account (14k+ followers).
Q: How would you describe your journey and how you got to where you are today?
A: In High School, I was working towards playing college baseball and getting recruited by a number of D1 and D3 schools as a pitcher. I had given that my all and thrown (no pun intended) my blood, sweat and tears into that passion. When I tore my UCL and got Tommy John surgery on my pitching elbow, all my offers were rescinded and I found myself searching for the next best thing. Working in Sports Business and/or Sports Law is just that and I am obsessed with it and can't wait for whatever the future holds.
Q: What is one thing people should definitely know about you?
A: I am the world's one and only proud Knicks fan (maybe besides Spike Lee).
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: I once caught a home run barehanded at a Yankees game.
